Oh dear. Five countries? I'd like to see ALL of them. But I'll go with a few I haven't seen yet:
1. Egypt. Because I read a book set in Cairo and I want to experience it for myself.
2. Bulgaria. I have absolutely no reason for this, except I think it'd be awesome.
3. Kazakhstan. Apples are from there. Did you know that? Again, inexplicable urge to go and see.
4. Argentina. I had an awesome professor from Buenos Aires. But it's a toss-up between there and Chile.
5. Mexico. I have lived in 2 states that border Mexico for a total of 6 years, and in the US for most of my life. I've been to Canada, but never Mexico. I *need* to go to Mexico. (I should make it #1.)

Oh, goodness. Let me think. I tend to move places, rather than take trips, but I've done a few (yes, a few!) cross-country road trips in the US, and they've all had their own little moments of loveliness. Crossing the Mississippi for the first time, pondering the kudzu in Georgia, wallowing in the vast emptiness of Wyoming, spending the night on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

Outside the US, the summer I spent working in Jamaica was nice. Or the day getting lost in Seoul or Easter in Rome with the Pope (well, seeing the Pope - I didn't exactly hang out with him)...goodness, I can't pick one best trip. I love travelling in general. It's the going that's great.

This has got to be one of the most spectacular places in the world. It is in Turkey and I recommend you Google it and see the pics via Wikipedia. I went here recently and felt like I was on the edges of heaven. Really breath taking. I shall not elaborate as you have to see the pics to understand.

What's the first thing you do when you get home from holiday?

make a cup of tea (you can tell that i'm british!)
cut the lawn
read all the mail and post
unpack and wash the laundry
go shopping for food
check your answer machine
go to bed (traveling can be so tiring!)

Yawn Yawn - do tell and don't forget to post any tips that you've used to get over the 'we're home again' blues...

Epcot...my grandfather paid for all 10 of the family to go. I had a blast looking at everything, but the trip was too short and too many people with different things to see and we stayed as a group. I loved being with my family. I want to return with my husband on a leisurely trip to Florida...he would love Epcot, he is an Engi-nerd. Try different foods. Go to see other sites such as the Tupperware museum, if it is still there!!!

No desire to go except for maybe the food. Travel is always food and shopping ~ meeting the people.

Obama and dream or reality? Depends on how much power/influence the Democratic party exerts on him and the Republican support.

1. United Kingdom
2. Australia
3. Canada
4. Scotland
5. All of Western Europe, but I guess that is cheating (but I can't choose one)

The top three are because I want to visit my e-buddies and meet them in person and see the sites they talk about and the eats they talk about.

It was between Scotland and Ireland. I picked Scotland because an old co-worker went there every year and it sounded and looked so beautiful.

Europe ~ 25 years ago I did a whirlwind 3 1/2 week 14 countries trip...I'd like to go back as an older person with my husband and enjoy and really take in the country at a reasonable pace.

Cuba was a blast - anyone else been or considering going?

The home of Salsa (The dance and the sauce) 1950's American cars, Mojitos and Daquiries.

Yum.

Can it remain the same for much loonger? They're all hoping OBAMA gets in and opens up the US floodgates.

Dream or reality?

Inspirational places folks - a great bunch we have here...

We're planning a cattle ranching break in the US / Canada in May and are really looking forward to it coupled with, perhaps a stop in Cuba, maybe via Miami or Canada!

North Korea was not what you'll call a traditional holiday but it was certainly unique, not least for the visit to the border where the South Korean side spent the whole time photographing us and monitoring us with binoculars. Not many people can claim to have stood in both Korea's at the same time and wandered around the most heavily militarised border in the world.
I probably have a CIA file by now - living in China and holidaying in North Korea it should be fun trying to get through immigration if I ever visit the US again.

Wow... where to start.
Over in the US, the only real place to be is Chicago. It;s like NYC with the volume at a reasonable level.

In Europe, Tuscany is amazing, I spent many a happy time buying great wine in Montalcino, and Montepulciano. Also Verona is beautiful with amazing restaurants and is great as a base for day trips to Milan or Venice.

Other than that, scuba diving in Hurghada in Egypt was simply awesome so I have to agree with Her Majesty QueenODNile, as was shark diving near a small rock off the north coast of Mauritius.
